Inspiration!

Once Upon A Time . . . there lived a beautiful girl with golden hair and big expressive eyes . . . finding herself walking deep into the forest she came upon a beautiful little cottage. She tapped lightly on the door and noticed that no one was at home. Well, by this time she had become very hungry so she slowly opened the door and walked in. To her surprise she saw 3 bowls of the most inviting porridge and began taking a taste from the largest bowl. Oh, that was much too hot . . . moving on to the medium size bowl . . . oh, that was much too cold . . . and then noticed a small bowl and took a small taste . . . awwww, JUST RIGHT!

Currently finding myself drawn into the magical world of Fairy Tales, Lessons Learned and Happily Ever After endings. Always has been one of my favorite themes and so many wonderful subjects you just can't go wrong going down the "yellow brick road" or climbing up the castle wall! You can always bet that at the end of either you will find a great adventure.

PEEPS! "Stale or Fresh" The Debate Continues! Which do you prefer?

Easter is fast approaching so I thought it would be fun to "blog" a little about a sweet sensation that is ever so popular this time of year . . . PEEPS! I've been having a fun little conversation about these crazy little characters with a friend as well . . . seems we're on opposite sides of the Peep aisle. Personally, I like to eat Peeps only after a rather lengthy "harvest" time of say at the very least 3-4 weeks and actually think that the more stale the better! I never could tolerate the sweet treat right out of a freshly opened box. Some may call it peep torture or cruel and inhumane treatment, but come on the little things are going to get eaten anyway and why not let the little guy hang around a little longer! I'm sure there is a major debate between those that love Peeps right out of the box or those that choose to "harvest" later for that "fresh" crunchy "stale", but not "stale" taste. How do you prefer "Peeps"? Have a favorite "stale" peep recipe . . . please share!

New from Pop Art Mini's "Rose Top Hat"

With creative inspiration taken from an amazing hat by Louise Green comes "Rose Top Hat". With vibrant pops of reds, pinks, golds and greens the rose and top hat come to life as it sits atop a wide-eyed cutie's head! During the process of this Pop Art Mini I created a slideshow presentation that shows a step by step view of the piece as it evolves into the finished 12"x12" art. "Hats Off " and enjoy the show!

With the recent release of Alice in Wonderland I've come to the conclusion that I'm simply Mad about hats! All of the creations that the Mad Hatter created for the "Red Queen" were so fun and whimsical...it started my search for unique hats and stylings by amazing millinery artists that are still creating hats today . . . the old fashioned way. I found some romantic and amazing designs and couldn't help, but be mesmerized by their creations and inspired to create a collection of "Hat Themed" Pop Art Mini's (Debuting soon...stay tuned). WOW! Long time since my last post and have decided to change up my blog look, title and feel! I've been busy creating some new oil pastel drawings with the popular "Alice in Wonderland" theme.
