Halloween Fun with an Owl, A Cat and A Jack...Stack!

Who's that I see stacked 1,2,3
It's an owl, a cat and a jack
That's silly I say, you don't see that everyday
Quite a site as a matter of fact!
Whooo says the owl
Boo says the cat
and Jack just says that's that!
We're here to have fun and we've only just begun
So don't have a stack attack!

Was inspired to create this little Halloween Pop Art Mini based on a fun sized frame that I found today.  I loved the tall and thin size of the frame and thought that it would be cute to create a stack of Halloween characters. A wise old owl, a silly black cat with a big grin and a jolly jack-o-lantern just seemed to be the perfect fit and it all fell into place! Hope you've enjoyed this brief holiday intermission . . . now back to the 2011 Pop Art Minis calendar designing! SMILES!

PURR-Fect Sweethearts! February Calendar Fun!

I'm having a lot of fun working on the new designs for the 2011 Pop Art Minis calendar and am all ready to roll on into February with two little kittens who are "Purr-fect Sweethearts"!  Cozy and cute as they cuddle together and form a heart with their tails reminding is that February is definitely the month of love and Valentine's!

January - "Snow Pals"
February - "Purr-fect Sweethearts"
Up next . . . What's will the March wind blow in?

Designs are available for purchase in my Zazzle store and the complete 12 month calendar will be available in the Zazzle Store as well upon completion of all designs!

What has 365 Days and features 12 Months of Pop Art Minis Artwork?

It's the NEW 2011 Pop Art Minis Calendar, well the start of it anyway! Yep, that's right! Today as I was struggling to come up with a new idea for the next Pop Art Mini design I thought, "Why not create art for a 2011 calendar" and so the designing has begun!
Where to start, where to start?  At the beginning of course, or that's the course I took.  Kicking off the 12 month of Pop Art Minis calendar is my January design called "Snow Pals"

A top "hatted" snowman and a silly-willy penguin team up in this first design for a colorful kick off to what will surely be a year of snap, crackle and poppin' fun!  Here's some detail shots for the "Snow Pals" design.

So, here's how it will work!  When I get all 12 months of the year complete I will be uploading them all to my Pop Art Minis Zazzle store where they will be available to purchase as a bound and beautiful 2011 Calendar! How cool is that?  And along the way I will also be adding the designs so that you can purchase them on other fun products like t-shirts, mousepads, keychains, and more!
Whew, what started out as a "what can I do day" has now become a "what month next day"! So, I'm off to work on the next 11 months of the 2011 calendar year! Any suggestions for your favorite month? Toss them my way! This is gonna be fun-tastic!
Thanks for popping by to take a look at what's new at Pop Art Minis!
And if you get a chance join us at these fun places too!

A Day To Remember ALL of the Moments and the Sunshine SMILES!

Just tagged by my sis, Ami who took this pic of my niece, Jaci, my new nephew-in-law, Curtis and me (via skype)! TOO FUNny . . . Had to share! Thank you for finding a way to make it possible for me to be a part of your big day that even the rain could not stop from being a day full of sunshine!  And how appropriate that the saying in the background of the room where I was watching the wedding day festivities via skype says,  "We Do Not Remember Days, We Remember Moments"!

This was one momentous Day that I will not forget watching from a far, but still being close!

Congrats again to Jaci, Curtis and the little man, Parker!
Wishing you all much love and happiness.
Remember always the joy of this day!

THE BOX..it's HERE! What's In The Box...What's In The Box!

IT'S HERE! THE BOX . . . The Mystery Art GRAB Bag Project box! What could possibly be in THE BOX?  Of course, me being the impatient, never to be kept in the dark for long kind of person that I am I couldn't wait to open "THE BOX"!

Why did I get THE BOX and what's so special about THE BOX is that it's from Alyice Edrich, The Dabbling Mum who posted a blog about a Mystery Art Give Away and asked who wanted to participate in a FREE Giveaway?  Why would anyone NOT want to participate . . . RIGHT? RIGHT! So naturally I was intrigued and definitely interested in finding out how to go about getting one of her "grab bag goodies" filled with mystery artful goodness!   So I hopped over to the post and found out that I might still have a chance.  I added my name to the list, saying "I want In" and than sat back and hoped that I would be selected.  A short time passed I got the word that YES, I would be the recipient of one of the "Mystery Art Give Away" packages! YES, one of THE BOXES would be coming my way! YAY!!!! How exciting!
Well that day came earlier this week when THE BOX (pictured above) Notice how I think it's ok for me to ask you to wait to find out what's in the box, when I couldn't wait one minute to open the box and find out what goodies awaited me...sorry, that is not nice! So, here's a little sneak peek (all wrapped up in cute checked tissue paper and tied neatly with white string.  Ok, that's not much of a sneak peek because you really can't see what's inside . . . just a bit longer for that!

Now, I am not a patient gift receiver! As far back as I can remember I have always wanted to know "what's in the box" almost as soon as I see the box, bag, or whatever it might be that keeps my eyes from viewing what's inside.  This time was no exception!  So I immediately lifted the box off the table and tore it open!

What, where's the goodies . . . just kidding . . . I pulled out one of the most beautiful cards I have seen that had a tree with stitched detailing in pinks, magenta and greens on top of a linen like printed/painted surface.

My photo does not do it justice! It's gorgeous and also has the word, "soar"  written on the front.  How awesome it this!  Art Card for sure and with a message that, well, just makes you want to soar!

But, that's not all that was in "THE BOX"  wrapped in that tiny package that you saw on top of the larger one (in the photo above) was a tiny gold angel charm that had been attached to a colorful square board with a beaded embellished hanger.  Precious and sweet!  I immediately thought of the perfect place to hang this angel treat . . . close to treasures that are dear to my heart and a photo of my Mom . . . my angel!

So that my friends is the mystery of what was in THE BOX . . . an awesome and very special gift-away! And THE BOX would not have made it's way to my mailbox were it not for the special Mystery Grab Bag artist herself Alyice Edrich!  So a special thanks for sharing THE BOX with me and for allowing me the opportunity to be able to share my experience with all of you!  Please visit Alyices' blog
there's a lot more fun there too!
And who knows maybe you'll be the next recipient of THE BOX!

Whoo's . . . "Celebrating The Big Day" Congrats to Jaci and Curtis!

In celebration of my niece Jaci and her soon to be husband Curtis (we're only hours away now) wedding day I have created a Pop Art Mini gift for them as they "Celebrate The Big Day"!  Inspired by their beautiful wedding invitation and the location of their ceremony, amazing backyard garden setting, the design features a colorful interpretation of flowers, wisdom, and growing together!
I'm sad that I will not be able to be with them in person on their big day, but will hopefully have the chance to watch the ceremony via skype! Oh, the magic of technology and the Internet!
Wishing Jaci and Curtis much Love and Happiness on this their special day!

"Practical Magic" Inspired Potion Bottles...Magic, Dreams, Wishes!

Welcome to my little contribution to the Practical Magic Blog Party.  Inspired by the movie I have created three potion bottles labeled with things that I think would add to creating the perfect spell.  Like the "true love" spell that was created in the movie these little bottles contain ingredients for Magic, Dreams and Wishes!  Magic of course...the largest of the bottles with a tiny pocket watch attached reminding us it's always time for a dose of good magic. Dreams...without dreams we can go nowhere and inside the bottle you will find tiny gold stars...those special dreams that you carry with you forever!  And wishes...a dash at the very least!  The other little goodies in the photos are a few treasured trinkets that make my "Practical Magic" potion a little more fun . . . pictures of my inspiration, my Mom when she was a little girl full of Dreams, wishes and magical fun, a fairy compact that was a treasure found in my Grandma's jewelry box and passed down to me and a key to unlock the power of the potion!

Please visit the main blog post where you can find links to all of the wonderful Practical Magic Blog Party! Enjoy the broom ride on this Sept. 25, 2010 adventure and celebration of a most magical movie and book! I myself am now off on this ride as well!
Brooms...up, up and away!

Here's a peek of the Love Potion scene from the movie...LOVE this scene!
