Little Bo Peep...Sketching Out The Details...A Work In Progress!

Little Bo Peep   by Joni Nickrent   Copyright 2011
Sharing a sneak peek of Little Bo Peep.  A sketch inspired by a vintage and beautiful painting called "Sweet Bo Peep", by famed artist illustrator, Maud Humphrey Bogart
Sweet Bo Peep  by Maude Humphrey Bogart
This latest edition to the Pop Art Minis Nursery Rhyme Collection is a bit of a departure from the last 3 drawings that have already been completed.
I'm not sure that she will remain a part of this more whimsical collection or maybe she will be the beginning of another more romantic Nursery Rhyme collection.  We'll see as the sketch progresses and the "pops" of color appear.
Little Bo Peep...sketch...work in progress. Waiting for color!
Stay tuned as Little Bo Peep continues her search to find her elusive sheep...maybe I need to make her eyes bigger....hehehe!

Egg-Citing News! Humpty Dumpty to Oversee The Big Egg Hunt!

Humpty Dumpty Sat On A Wall   by Joni Nickrent   copyright 2011
With the biggest Egg Hunt of the year just a day away I thought it would be appropriate to step outside the basket, crack open my oil pastels and create a Pop Art Mini of one of the most famous "egg-heads" of all time!
HUMPTY DUMPTY!
And the EGG-Citing news...Humpty has agreed to oversee the event, and I think with those big eyes he should have no problem watching over the festivities, from his favorite spot...on top of the wall!
Hopefully he'll stay put and not take a fall!
So how did this materialize...check it out below!

With pencil in hand the sketching began.
Once that was done it was time for color fun!
Adding Layers of tan...a touch of red and blue
How about an egg-citing close up view
More color added...ear to ear
A touch on the tie...isn't he a dear!?
Base color's done...time for blending fun!
Next up the details...adding black
He's almost done...no time to slack
Signing off...Back Together Again
Egg-Citing and fun it's definitely been!

Pssst...Don't miss out on this weeks link ups and Giveaways over on the Pop Art Minis Blog...check out the posts below and join in the fun!
