"Fae Watch" The Lost Sketches! Do You Believe?

After a restless few nights where it seems my tick tock clock is still moving through some other time zone I came home from work today and thought it would be a good idea to take a quick nap!  Well, it is now 12:22 a.m. (now 1:07 a.m.) and I am wide awake so evidently the nap idea was not one of the better one's I've had! So, what's a girl to do, but blog!
With grumblings from my belly for some nourishment I headed downstairs to the kitchen and while on my way to prepare a decadent snack I noticed out of the corner of my eye a twinkling and rustling of paper.  There on a shelf was a book of sketches that I had started several, well, probably 2-3 years ago.  I had forgotten about these little gems that featured pen & ink along with pencil renderings of "fae" creations.  I love the fantasy and magic of fairies and thought it would be fun to share the sketches along with a few other treasures I found while on this inspiring "Fae Watch".  So here are a few quick pics of  the once "lost sketches" (maybe not lost...buried under a mountain of papers).  These were just quick, rough designs that I had planned on, well, I don't really know that I had a plan at the time I was just inspired to create them. Fairy Magic I guess...hehehe!

In this last sketch photo I included a colorful collection of fairy cards that I also found in the pile of goodies!

Here's another little fun piece that I created a while back . . . on the same shelf. An altered "Fairy Firefly" that stands poised inside an old glass canning jar.  Seems not to be too happy inside there.  Think I should let her out?  hehehe!

I know not everyone BELIEVES in fairies, but you know the world might be a better place if we sometimes just let our creative imaginations soar with inspiration and share kindness joy and laughter with each other everyday!
I BELIEVE and I hope you do too!
As the little sign that hangs by my front door says,
"Fairy Tales Do Come True"
And That My Friend Is My Wish To YOU!

The Sketchbook Project * Page 2

It's the second day since I received my sketchbook and on to the second page. Not sure if I'll be able to stay on this track, but that's the plan . . . for now! :)  Today's entry was a combination of "post-it" note sketches that I scrap booked onto the page and added a bit of color over. Lil' Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Alice In Wonderland . . . 3 of my favorite storybook characters!  So . . . I am beginning to think that this adventure is going to take the shape of magic, fairy tales, fantasy and dreams . . . things that make you smile, transport you to a magical and fantastical place and hopefully inspire.  I think I knew it would go that way, but needed to put the first sketches to paper to be sure. So I'm off and sketching...having fun, imagining the next page, mixing ink and pastel...and ready to work through the adventures of imagination, dreams and fantastical fun!

Happily Ever Afters, Fairy Tales & Adventures!

Introducing my Once Upon A Time Collection with "Goldilocks". Now available in my Zazzle store! T-shirts, Buttons, Canvas Bags, Mousepads, and more!
Inspiration!
Once Upon A Time . . . there lived a beautiful girl with golden hair and big expressive eyes . . . finding herself walking deep into the forest she came upon a beautiful little cottage. She tapped lightly on the door and noticed that no one was at home. Well, by this time she had become very hungry so she slowly opened the door and walked in. To her surprise she saw 3 bowls of the most inviting porridge and began taking a taste from the largest bowl. Oh, that was much too hot . . . moving on to the medium size bowl . . . oh, that was much too cold . . . and then noticed a small bowl and took a small taste . . . awwww, JUST RIGHT!

Currently finding myself drawn into the magical world of Fairy Tales, Lessons Learned and Happily Ever After endings. Always has been one of my favorite themes and so many wonderful subjects you just can't go wrong going down the "yellow brick road" or climbing up the castle wall! You can always bet that at the end of either you will find a great adventure.

Wishing you a most magical and fantastic fairy tale day!
