Big Eyed Inspiration...Playing With Dolls...A W.I.P. Wednesday Buzz and What I LOVE!

New B.F.F. Big Eyed Inspiration

I love my Blythe Doll(s)! Call me "cuckoo" that's ok, but there's something about those big eyes that capture my imagination and inspire me in my art. After a day at the office...playing with dolls...hmmm...see a pattern here...I thought it would be fun to enjoy a little play date/photo shoot with my "official" Blythe doll and her new B.F.F. who is not an official Blythe, but we don't need to point that out to her! She recently joined the family and when she arrived she had straight dark black hair and it was not looking too good..thin in the back and kind of icky so I got brave enough to give it a chop and crown her with a new head of hair! I'm liking the new look, but still have a little work to do to get it just right! In the meantime, here's a few quick pix I snapped of the styling duo!

After all that I needed to relax with a little sketch time...Another Love! And of course that was inspired by the big eyed cuties and a little buzzzz! A Honey of a bumble and a baby bee! Can't wait to add the pops of color!

Let's Have Some Fun "Clowning Around" Creative Coloring Contest and FREE Printable!

Clowning Around Creative Coloring Contest

I posted yesterday about my latest "art-venture" and line art that I was working on for some soon to be rubber stamp designs to be sold through Queen Kat Designs Stamp Co and one of my Hive Friends (thanks Finding Charm) suggested that I think about creating coloring pages too! Well, with that suggestion in mind I decided to make my "Clowning Around" rubber stamp design into a FREE Printable Creative Coloring Page and toss a Creative Coloring Contest into the Big Top Ring as well!

So, if you'd like to join in the creative coloring fun and be entered for a chance at a Big Top Prize Package (Stay tuned for the prize package pix...it's gonna be BIG!) here's what you will need to do.

1. Download the FREE Pop Art Minis "Clowning Around" Creative Coloring Page (whew, that's a mouthful...LOL) Right click on pic above, save as jpeg, print on full size 8.5"x11"

(Note: The files large so make sure you size it to fit your paper)

2. Then go to work...color, scrapbook, alter...let your creative imagination run wild. The only rule here is that you have to include the Clowning Around image in your piece in some way, shape or form. Whatever you want to do...it's all up to YOU!

3. After you have completed your "Clowning Around" Creative Masterpiece...Blog about it or post it somewhere that you link to it from the Clowning Around Creative Coloring Contest Gallery Page.

Please Link directly to your entry so that we can find your post or blog.

4. Entries in the Clowning Around Creative Coloring Contest will be open from today, May 24, 2011 through June 5, 2011 11:59 pm.

5. Voting will be open starting at 12:01 am. June 6, 2011 through Sunday, June 12, 2011 11:59 pm. PST

6. The winning entry will be posted Monday, June 13, 2011

7. The Winning Entry will receive this prize package!

Exciting News! Pop Art Minis Rubber Stamps, Iron-On Transfers and Fabric Blocks Coming Soon!

I'm excited to announce that I have signed on with Queen Kat Designs to create a collection of Pop Art Mini Rubber Stamps, Iron-On Transfers, and Fabric Blocks. Already in the works is the Nursery Rhyme Time collection for Iron-on Transfer and Fabric Blocks...which will be sold through the Kat's Magical Patches shoppe!

I'll be sure to share the finished product and links as soon as it's up in the store!

Next up...I've been working on the rubber stamp designs for the first collection that will be put into works inspired by the original Pop Art Mini "Under The Big Top".

Here's a sneak peek of the collection in "sketch" stage before going to final line art and then on to becoming rubber stamps...perfect for scrapbooking and cardmaking. I'm sure you can recognize some of the circus characters from the original drawing and a few new one's too!

I'm excited about this new adventure and look forward to creating more fun collections.

Illustration Friday and Sunday Sketches too...A "Soaked" Puppy Mini I'd Like To Share With YOU!

This week's Sunday Sketch submission was inspired by the Illustration Friday word "soaked"! And after a post on my Pop Art Minis Facebook page for suggestions of how to illustrate the word "soaked" this playful puppy in the bath bucket was my final creation!

From sketch to Pops of color...he still kept his smile and really didn't mind being a little "soaked" at all!

A Treasured Teddy Bear...Friends To The End!

Whooo's Ready For The Big Reveal?."Owl Only Have Eyes For You."

"Owl" admit...I'm totally stuck on the moon and big eyed characters, but can "who" can resist the inspiration of such fantastical fun?! A cute and cuddly bright eyed owl and a curly haired blond sweetheart are quite a pair...what a mesmerizing stare!

Up next? "Whooo" knows...grabbing my pastels, paper...anything goes!
