Illustration Friday and Sunday Sketches too...A "Soaked" Puppy Mini I'd Like To Share With YOU!

This week's Sunday Sketch submission was inspired by the Illustration Friday word "soaked"! And after a post on my Pop Art Minis Facebook page for suggestions of how to illustrate the word "soaked" this playful puppy in the bath bucket was my final creation!

From sketch to Pops of color...he still kept his smile and really didn't mind being a little "soaked" at all!

Thanks to all that tossed in a suggestion, inspired with the word of the week and have a great link up that let's me share my Pop Art Mini creations with you!

Sunday Sketches...Nursery Rhyme Time Continues With Old King Cole

With four colorful characters in my Pop Art Minis Nursery Rhyme Collection, I've decided to keep row, row, rowing my boat gently down the nursery rhyme stream with the addition of a royal character...inspired by a suggestion from a Facebook Friend (thanks John) and in honor of the most recent Royal event...you know the one!  So in true Sunday Sketches style...my submission for this week... and a first look, sneak peek of the man beneath the crown...a merry ol' soul from head to toe!

Sunday Sketch time has rolled around again...and it seems a Nursery Rhyme mood I'm definitely in.  With Humpty Dumpty making his egg-citing debut on Saturday today Little Miss Muffet has joined us on her tuffet, it's true!

She's a big eyed cutie with a bit of a problem

Yes, the spider's arrived...like a big bad globlin

A tiny little scream you might just hear

But keep your eyes open, just cover your ears

Sunday Sketches..."Poppy Puppy Love...Sharing A Secret With My Best Friend!" Big Eyed Art Inspiration

I really enjoyed participating in last weeks Sunday Sketches over at Blue Chair Diary and when Saturday night rolled around I grabbed my sketchbook and got an early start on my Sunday submission! This weeks sketch was inspired by a step back in time to the 60's and 70's!

So what exactly from this time period inspired me?  

The amazing "big-eyed" artists...artists like Eve, Gig, Keane and others...that took the big, sad and awesomely expressive eyes to create a mod, fun, funky and fabulous look!

After a  little "google-searching" I came across a couple of paintings that I merged into my sketch!

This adorable painting by Eve inspired the big-eyed girl in my sketch!

 LOVE!!!!

 AND

This poor, pitiful, puppy by Gig inspired the "Poppy Puppy" in my sketch!

Changes, tweaks, twists and my version looks like this...from close up to completion!

SUNDAY SKETCHES

Sunday Sketches..."Esther B." Bulldog...Bunny...Or Both?

I thought it would be fun to participate in some sketch time fun over at this awesome blog called Blue Chair Diary.  When Sunday rolls around it's time to submit your "Sunday Sketches" and if you haven't participated or checked out the Cool, Creative fun you really should...Inspiring for sure!

And so with my mind made up to submit a sketch this week I used a friend suggestion from my Pop Art Minis Facebook Page (which by the way I'm working on a giveaway prize package to celebrate a fabulous friend milestone...so stay tuned for that) in deciding what the sketch would "B".  So a big thanks Josh T. for inspiring me with this comment left on my wall! "You should draw a pug wearing bunny ears"!

Not sure yet if I'll be adding "pops" of color...I'm kind of liking it just being a sketch and leaving it at that...what do you think? Or maybe I need to do a colorful version too.
