Illustration Friday - Transportation . . . Up Up And Away!

This week over at Illustration Friday the theme challenge was "Transportation" so I thought my little red airplane Pop Art Mini  "Up Up And Away" would make a perfect entry. I created this design a few months back as a special request from a Facebook Friend and really liked the way the red "popped"! Hope you enjoy one of my favorite modes of transportation and one that I seem to use ALOT!  So if you're ready it's time to soar . . . "Up Up And Away!"

APRIL Showers Bring . . . Hippity Hop Raindrop . . . April Calendar Design

Hopping right along with the 2011 Pop Art Minis Calendar designs, "Hippity Hop Raindrop" joins the lineup for the month of APRIL.  Combining a few raindrops, a colorful flower print umbrella, and a happy, hippity, hoppity bunny rabbit already to take on the April Showers soon to bring . . . MAY flowers and a few more surprises along the way!

There's A New Cat In Town And His Name Is BOO!

There's a new cat and town and his name is BOO!

Why name a cat that . . . let me share with you.

Boo you see was born on Halloween

Grinning ear to ear so he could be seen.

But that Halloween night the lights went dark

And this little black cat got lost in the park

So instead of being a scaredy cat

He went around yelling BOO . . . that's that!

So the name just stuck and he holds his head high

With a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye!

Boo Kitty is the latest addition to my Pop Art Minis Halloween Collection.  Created with inspiration from the Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland but with a Halloween twist.  Stars and the moon are always fun, add a Jack-o-lantern to the mix and the composistion is complete.    This little Boo Kitty design is available in my Zazzle Store on a variety of fun and creative products including t-shirts, posters, keychains, and more.

It's "Panda-Moonium" - Gotta Love A Full Moon...Awesome!

Tonight when I was driving home from work I glanced up to see the most amazing full moon.  When I first noticed it, it was still low in the sky and looked like it was hanging over the mountains...very cool.  I wish I could have gotten that shot, but it would have been a little hard to stop on the Freeway ramp when there were about 25 cars trailing behind me! LOL.  Anyway, when I finally got home the moon had made it's climb to a higher position in the sky, but it was still pretty darn AWESOME!

"Over the Moon" with inspiration  I "buzzed" into the house and upstairs to my drawing table and proceeded to work on what I ended up calling "Panda-Moonium"  Why the Panda?  We'll that's what stage of my creative moon I'm in right now so I thought it just made sense...and a little telling of my current state...hehehe!  I also created a photo progression of the process . . . sometimes fun to see the start, middle and finished design.  I hope you enjoy the end result as much as I enjoyed creating it!

More Fairy Fun . . . Ink and Watercolor Wash.

Fairy Magic

Today I took a little time to organize some of my art folders that I had in my studio closet.  While digging through all the goodies I came across some watercolor and ink sketches that I did a while back.  I really didn't have an outlet for these at the time that I drew them,  but now that I have my Zazzle store I'm thinking they might somehow find a new home!  So thinking with a fun border, a magical fairy message and a touch of pixie dust they might soon come to life on tote bags, keychains, t-shirts and more that I will offer through my Zazzle Store! "For the Birds" A Perfect Theme "With A Song In My Heart!"

BIRDS! Always singing, twittering (seems we are too) and effortlessly soaring through life! I'm definitely hooked when it comes to the chirping little characters as a perfect theme for my art and home decor.  Inspired to soar, nest and just plain have fun I made a collage of some great "bird" themed home decor pieces and than created a whimsical Pop Art Mini design that's called "With A Song In My Heart".  What's your favorite feathered friend look, design or decor idea?
